About Us

Rachel, Meme, and Kris selling pottery at our very first Farmer’s Market!

Currently, we are a team of five, Rachel Zahniser-Cranston, Kristoffer Broadley, Amanda Whittemore, and our youth workers Sam and Carrie, working out of our studio in Wichita, Kansas. We create a variety of pottery and ceramic pieces, both hand-thrown and cast. All of our glazes are lead-free and food safe.

PotteryWorks was born from a desire to respond to God’s call and to use our pottery skills to employ at-risk youth in the Wichita area. This is a new branch of Legacy Ministries, which already employs at-risk youth to work in urban gardens and help host farm-to-table brunches. We envision that PotteryWorks will help youth with interests in art and/or business to develop greater confidence and self-efficacy, which can help them discover their own sense of vocation and purpose in the world. Currently we have two youth employees, but we would love to offer more jobs as we grow.

This blog is our place to celebrate creativity and community.

    Hi, Mimi.
My name is Zoe Meulbroek. I attended Church of the Savior many years ago. I’m interested in volunteering with youth, and wondered if you do any work with painting or collage. Maybe I could be of service in some capacity. You can reach me on my cell @ 316-613-3373, or send an e-mail. Thanks. I think I sent or tried to send something with incomplete information just prior to this message.
